ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - San Francisco, CA


Position Overview

  • Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse
  • Location: San Francisco, California
  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (07:00 - 19:30)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Floating: Required as needed
  • Weekend Rotation: Required
  • On-call: None

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Competencies & Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • ICU nurses may be required to take an EKG exam onsite after start
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units

Facility & Compliance Requirements

  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
    • Job description
    • Standards of Business Conduct
    • Vendor training and Code of Conduct (for current and future years)
    • Overpayment refund policy
    • General regulatory orientation for contracted workers
    • Dress code policy
    • Conditional offer of employment attestation
  • TB Screening Questionnaire signed by candidate and healthcare provider within 90 days of start, renewed annually
  • Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and vaccine exemptions, subject to approval
  • Photo for badge required for per diem only
  • Personal or auto insurance required only for driving positions

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • No on-call duties, but weekend rotation is mandatory.
  • Floating to other units as needed.
