Job Opportunity: Critical Care Float Nurse

Location: Cartersville, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Description

• Position is for hospital float pool staff, expected to float throughout the hospital including the Emergency Department.
• Floating occurs within the facility and scope of practice as needed.
• Weekend schedule: Every other weekend.
• No call required.
• No block schedule requests allowed.
• Must work major holidays if they fall during the assignment (up to two holidays required if three fall within the contract).
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year’s Eve/Day.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of Critical Care Float nursing experience, with Critical Care Float experience within the last year
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working as a float nurse within hospital settings

Additional Information

• Orientation hours are non-billable and vary by contract length (e.g., 10 hours for a 10-week assignment).
• Full compliance with all requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling.
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers.
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start.
• No prior travel experience required.
