Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Glen Burnie, Maryland

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
• Location: Glen Burnie, Maryland
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:30 - 17:00)
• Contract Length: 4 weeks
• Patient Population: Adults
• Unit Details: 2 procedure rooms, average daily census 4-8 patients

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of critical care or Emergency Department (ED) experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Emergency Department (ED) experience

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Registered Nurse license valid in Maryland
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only

Work Schedule & On-Call Requirements

• 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:30 - 17:00)
• Holidays: Required as scheduled, including 1 holiday shift (may include day before or after)
• Weekends: Includes 3 single weekend call shifts per month
• On-call: 3 on-call shifts per week (including 3 weekend shifts/month) plus 1 holiday on-call shift
• Floating: Required within specialty, other units, and sister facilities within scope

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, OFAC, education verification
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start; lab items must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start; must be medically cleared to wear respirator
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working with children)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines/boosters required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer or declination accepted (series not accepted)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• TB testing: Negative QGOLD or TSPOT within 1 year or 2-step PPD as applicable; TB questionnaire if positive
• COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking

Additional Requirements

• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start (charge RNs or supervisors/managers)
• Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
• Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)
• Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start

Facility-Specific Notes

• Facility will provide scrub color
• Badge photo required (passport style with solid white/beige background)
• Completion of required learning modules prior to start (non-reimbursed time)
• Completion of IT access forms and Pyxis Access Request Form after learning modules
• Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Confidentiality agreement and dress code review required prior to start
• Portfolio Epic training test-out option available for eligible candidates

Summary

This is a short-term (4-week) travel contract for an experienced Cath Lab RN with a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab and critical care/ED experience. The position requires strong procedural skills in cardiac catheterization and related interventions, with ACLS and BLS certifications mandatory. The role includes day shifts with on-call and weekend responsibilities, and requires compliance with extensive health, background, and facility-specific documentation and training requirements.
