MRI Technologist - Travel/Contract

Location: La Jolla, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Evening, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (5 days a week, 8-hour shifts)
• On-call: One overnight call per week (standby)

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ARRT certification
• California Venipuncture Certification
• IV start experience

Experience

• Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard MRI Tech experience required (typically 1+ years)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Proof of W4 on file
• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county, state, federal, and national criminal and sex offender searches (no international background checks required)
• HHS/OIG clearance
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
• Tdap vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer with boosters if needed (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start
• COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption
• Flu vaccination or agency flu declination required year-round
• N95 fit test within 1 year of start (specific approved masks required; no onsite testing available)

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific learning modules (~8 hours) prior to start
• Completion and signature of Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality/Non-Disclosure agreements annually
• Validation of Qualifications and Documentation Checklist completed and signed within 30 days of start
• Facility does not require scrub color; OR and L&D scrubs provided
• EPIC or Cerner experience: 6 months minimum preferred; less than 6 months may require approval
• Pyxis Acknowledgment not required for non-clinical staff (not applicable here)

References & History

• Two satisfactory professional references required
• Employment application and skills checklist required and must be current for audit purposes

Additional Notes

• Radiation badge not required for MRI Techs (only for RNs in Interventional Radiology)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification not required for this role
• NIH Stroke Certification not required for techs

This position offers a travel contract opportunity for an experienced MRI Technologist with required certifications and compliance with extensive health and background documentation. Evening shift with one overnight call per week.
