Position Details

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery RN
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year (first-timers accepted)
• Shift Requirements:

  • Weekend requirement: 2 weekends every 6 weeks (night shift weekends may include Fridays)
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week; client may cancel up to 3 shifts during the assignment
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) - must be renewed every 2 years
• NRP Advanced (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - must include all 11 components, updated every 2 years
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (required for L&D and other critical units)

Special Requirements

• Ability and experience with vaginal exams
• Ability and experience in baby care
• Experience with at least 300 births

• Immunity or vaccination records for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps

  • Hepatitis B

  • Hepatitis C
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (annual renewal for travel/per diem)
• Flu seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination (required annually)
• COVID-19 seasonal vaccination or facility-specific declination (required annually)

Background and History

• Background check covering last 7 years, including social security address trace for 15 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM checks within 30 days of start
• 2 professional references (one must be from most recent experience)
• Complete 15+ years of work history on application
• Education verification
• Skills checklist updated annually

Facility-Specific Documents and Training

• Orientation packet acknowledgment
• Facility-specific policies including fingernail hygiene, timekeeping, float policy (if applicable), and standard of care acknowledgments
• Job description review and signature
• Training questionnaire and completion of required modules via LMS platform (WorkRamp) with passing score above 80%
• Drug Diversion Module (required for all RNs and LVNs prior to start)
• Photo for badge on plain blue background (passport-style)
• System access request form (time sensitive, updated annually)
• COVID-19 exposure questionnaire, privacy and security information, parking regulations acknowledgment
