Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Schedule:

  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (4x10)
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) and Every Other Holiday (EOH)
• Floating: Required as per facility needs
• Locals Accepted: Yes, at a lower rate

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year in specialty
• Recent Experience: Required within the last year
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Licensure & Certifications

• License: New York State RN license required (or application in process)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required

Compliance & Testing

• Background Checks:

  • Within 1 year, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required prior to start
• Drug Testing: 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
• Physical Exam: Full physical within 12 months of start, signed by licensed provider
• Fit Mask Test: Within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Immunizations & Health Requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years or declination)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity (2 MMR vaccines or serologic titers)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella immunity (vaccines, titer, or documented history)
  • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
  • COVID vaccine records or declination

Orientation & Competency Requirements

• Pass/Fail Testing:

  • Telemetry assessment (80% minimum) on first day for certain departments including OR
  • Remediation provided if initial assessment is not passed
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable
• Skills Checklist: Required
• References: 2 professional references within last 3 years

Facility Specific Requirements

  • Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
  • Orientation Packet Acknowledgement
  • Automated Dispensing Cabinet Security (for Pyxis access)
• Annual Tuberculosis Screening Questionnaire

Additional Notes

• All Return to Office (RTO) requests must be submitted before offer acceptance; no RTO approvals after offer.
• Call-Out/Call-Off Policy: Maximum 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
• Nurses are responsible for independently measuring and interpreting telemetry strips as facility does not employ telemetry technicians.

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of recent OR experience, current NY licensure, and required certifications, ready for a 13-week travel assignment with a structured schedule and comprehensive compliance requirements.
