Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: RN Scrub - CVOR - Cardiac
- Start Date: January 26
- Schedule: Mid shift; 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM - 11:30 PM)
- Call Obligation: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Patient Population: Orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics. Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus.
- Environment: Very busy, high acuity academic medical center
- Floating: Within hospital only (no floating to sister hospitals)
- Charge Duties: May be required
- Block Schedule: Not open to block scheduling unless otherwise stated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License: Not accepted
- RTO Restrictions: 1 week max
- Scrub Color: Any (scrubs provided)
- Charting System: EPIC
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: 4 years cardiovascular experience (highest stated requirement)
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers accepted
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) - refer to unit-specific job descriptions
Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and Washington State WATCH background checks required
- Education verification or diploma/transcript required for RNs
- Drug screening (10 panel) required (Aya requirement, not facility)
- Physical exam required (Aya requirement)
- Fit mask test required within 9-12 months of start (specific mask types accepted)
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer or vaccination documentation
- Hepatitis B - positive titer or declination with waiver
- Varicella - titer or vaccination (history of disease not accepted at this facility)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
- COVID vaccination or declination documentation
Additional Requirements
- Must complete WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Suicide Prevention Training if using a multi-state license
- Must complete WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation if using out-of-state compact license
- Must watch EPIC/Alaris Integration video and complete attestation prior to start
- Photo for badge required (DMV style, no selfies)
- Various facility-specific agreements and checklists must be completed prior to start

Notes
- Guaranteed hours: In low census situations, providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call in 4-hour increments up to one shift per 2-week cycle
- Ambulatory or surgical services closed on weekends/holidays will not schedule travelers during those times
This position is ideal for experienced cardiovascular OR nurses comfortable with high acuity cases and flexible scheduling in a prestigious academic medical center environment. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
