Job Details
- Start Date: January 5
- Shift: Day/Night rotating
- Shift Patterns:
- 2x8 hour shifts, 2x12 hour shifts, or 4x10 hour shifts
- Weekends included (flexibility required)
- No block scheduling available
- Shift Times: Multiple start/end times ranging from early morning to late night
- Cases per shift: 60-70
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, flexibility expected (Sunday night is not considered weekend shift)
- On-call: No
- Floating: No
- Locals Accepted: Yes
Experience & Certifications
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty (Level 1 Trauma and Neuro required)
- Preferred Experience: 3-4 years
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Circulate skills required
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
- Additional Preferred Certifications:
- ACLS preferred for OR (not required)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred for ICU float pool
- Specialty Notes:
- Hospital is heavy in Orthopedics, Spine, and Neuro cases
- No Cardiac or Transplant cases on this unit
- Medication System: Pyxis
Licensing
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Compact License: Candidates must apply for WA license and/or complete 6-hour suicide prevention training and submit demographic data through WA BON site

Work Restrictions & Requirements
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 6 days
- Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per every 2-week pay period
- Unit Size: 25 beds, Level 1 Trauma Center
Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- Must run checks on current and former legal names and known aliases
- International background checks required if candidate lived outside the US in last 3 years
- Sex offender search required
- State-specific WA WATCH search required
- Education verification required for Med Lab Techs (not applicable here)
Competency & Testing Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required (80% minimum in dosage calculations)
- Color blind testing required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (may apply)
- Competency exams required as per unit/job description
- Conscious sedation competency exam required if working in GI Lab/Endoscopy (may apply)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required by UWMC but required by Aya)
- Mask fit test within 12 months of start (specific mask types required)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination on file
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination required
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination required
- Varicella immunity or vaccination required
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Sept 29 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking
- Drug screening within past 12 months (required by Aya, not UWMC)
Facility Specific Documents & Orientation
- Badge photo required (professional quality)
- Facility-specific job description must be signed
- Various forms including license acknowledgment, equipment safety, health history, policies and procedures, security info, personal data, and code of conduct must be completed and signed
- Orientation modules must be completed prior to start (approx. 2-3 hours)
- Orientation testing on site for RNs (not pass/fail)
