Job Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology.
  • At least 1 year in an active interventional lab such as IR or EP lab.
  • Must have cardiac cath experience.

• Education & Certifications:

  • Associate Degree in Applied Sciences required.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • IEMA Licensure required.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association required.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty.
  • Must be fully knowledgeable in cardiovascular procedural functions including:

    • PTCA (coronary angioplasty)
    • Coronary Stenting
    • Intra-Aortic Balloon placement
    • Temporary and Permanent Pacemaker insertion
    • Atherectomy
    • Intra-vascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
    • Thrombectomy (use of Pronto device)
    • FFR/Pressure Wire
    • Management of Arterial and Venous Sheaths

• Licenses:

  • Illinois Emergency Medical Technician (IEMA) licensure required.

Work Schedule & Conditions

• On-call required 7-8 days per month, including weekends.
• Weekend work required.
• Holiday on-call only; holiday requests should be made upon hiring.
• Meal break length: 30 minutes.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Complete and maintain all I9 documentation.

• Current and valid Driver’s License or Government Photo ID recommended.

• Proof of name change if legal name differs from compliance documents.

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start.

• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.

• Education verification of highest degree completed.

• Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry eligibility and fingerprinting required prior to start (must be done in Illinois).

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good health and no physical limitations.

• Fit mask test (3M Aura 1870+) required within 12 months of start and updated annually.

• Drug screening (10 panel) within 30 days of start.

• Required vaccinations and immunizations including:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination

• OSHA Respiratory Safety clearance required if fit test is failed.

• Sexual harassment training required annually.

• Facility-specific agreements and acknowledgements must be signed prior to start (confidentiality, information security, cannabis acknowledgement, policy acknowledgements, etc.).

• Competency exam passing score required.
• Color blindness test required.
• Training modules will be provided and must be completed promptly.
