Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ED RN)

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department (ED) setting
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (0700-1930)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Patient ratio: 1:4
  • Skills required: Triage, IV starts, Phlebotomy
  • Charge nurse experience preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of general ED experience (adult and pediatric)
  • Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - preferred
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - preferred

Testing Requirements

  • Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
    • Minimum overall score of 80%
    • 100% score on lethal rhythms section

Licensure & Compliance

  • Valid state nursing license required prior to start
  • Background checks including criminal history, education verification, and federal/state screenings required
  • Drug screening within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Immunizations and health documents required:
    • Annual physical exam
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (with follow-up if history positive)
    • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years preferred
    • MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or titers
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
  • Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency within 3 years
  • Annual completion of facility-specific orientation and safety modules
