Job Details

• Schedule:

  • 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3/12s)
  • Every other weekend
  • On call as needed

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA/AAP only, must be Instructor or Advanced Provider Course
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - Typically required for Labor & Delivery; AWHONN certification valid for 2 years

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse
• Prior travel experience required (must have completed at least one prior travel contract or equivalent)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including:

  • Social Security trace with all aliases
  • County searches for last 7 years of locations lived/worked/schooled
  • Nationwide sex offender search within 90 days of start
  • Education verification (highest level achieved)
  • FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
• Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps
• Employment verification for up to 7 years required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella - positive titers or vaccination series with boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
  • Varicella - positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
• Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start and renewed annually
• Color blindness exam if applicable (in-person exam only)

Additional Requirements

• Unit-specific skills checklist required, renewed annually
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exams (e.g., dysrhythmia/EKG) as applicable
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including:

  • Overpayment refund policy
  • Regulatory orientation for contracted workers
  • Abuse policy and confidentiality agreement
  • TB questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually
