Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: 4 years (preferred 4, required 3; use higher value)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Certifications Required

• BLS: Required
• ACLS: Preferred (required for ER, Surgical Services, PACU, ICU, and Level 2; not required for L&D)
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for MS/Tele, ER, and ICU (annual renewal)

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • National Sex Offender Search (separate from background check)
  • OFAC Sanctions List Search (separate from background check)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals

• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam (initial and annual)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (updated annually)
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Drug screening (9 or 10 panel depending on source) within required timeframe
  • N95 Fit Test within 12 months (onsite fit testing requires additional clearance)
  • Respirator medical clearance if fit testing onsite

Additional Requirements

• References: Minimum 3 current clinical references required
• Performance Evaluations: If worked over 1 year with the system, evaluation on file preferred
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually for applicable units
• Employment Application/Resume: Required
• Radiation Badge: Required only for specific roles (OR, Radiology RNs/techs); new candidates must supply their own badge

• Royal Blue Scrubs required
• No special requirements beyond those listed
• Floating only within MS/TELE floors, no sister facility floating
• Local candidates accepted under local radius rule
• Pending state licenses accepted

This position is ideal for experienced MS/Telemetry RNs with at least 4 years of experience, who are comfortable working night shifts with weekend requirements and floating within similar units. Prior travel experience is not required.
