Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Position in Pre-Screen Unit; clinical fit determined by clinical review and manager interview.
• Must be able to function independently in multiple specialties including Robotics, Orthopedics, General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Bariatrics, ENT, Plastics, Vascular, Thoracic (excluding cardiac/open heart), and Trauma.
• Level I Trauma experience preferred; must have at least Level II trauma experience (>1 year).
• Proficiency required with DaVinci Xi robotic system; familiarity with DaVinci DV5 is a plus.
• Candidate may care for COVID-19 patients.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
• Prior travel experience required.

Schedule & Work Details

• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days.
• Weekends: 3-4 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule; shifts may be day, evening, or night.
• Holidays: Scheduled per department needs; shifts may be day, evening, or night.
• Call Requirements: 2-3 calls within a 6-week schedule with a 30-minute callback response.
• Floating: Not applicable.
• Unit Preference: RNs who can scrub and circulate.

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• PALS (if applicable)
• NRP (if applicable)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) (if applicable)
• State License verification (primary source)
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (as applicable)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start; updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start.
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start.
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 5 years; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year prior to start; must be finalized before start (cannot start with pending results).

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days of start; PPD not accepted. For positive TB, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal. Exempt if born before 1957.
• Hepatitis B: Positive titer or full vaccine series (3 doses) required, plus declination form if applicable.
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; boosters required if titers negative/equivocal. Exempt if born before 1957.
• Seasonal Flu vaccine required during flu season; medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
• COVID-19 vaccine or approved exemption/declination accepted.
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (Aya requirement only).
• Respiratory Safety clearance required within 1 year of start; renew annually.

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years.
• Most recent resume or employment application required.
• Annual skills checklist.
• Photo for badge: professional, passport-style photo required.
• Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, commitment to health & wellness, non-employee affidavit, and others as required.
• Completion of online Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to start.
• New hire orientation required by end of first day.

Notes

• Must be proficient with DaVinci Xi robot and robotic specialties listed; other robotic experience (ortho/neuro) not relevant.
• Must be able to work independently without refresher training.
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates must be notified prior to submission.
• May care for COVID-19 patients.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with prior travel experience who are proficient in trauma and robotic surgery nursing and can work independently across multiple specialties.
