Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Winfield, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
• Weekends: Every third weekend required
• Start Date: ASAP
• Locals Allowed: Yes (at the same rate)
• Radius Restriction: No
• First Time Travelers: Not accepted; prior travel experience required
• EMR System: Centricity (preferred)
• Block Scheduling: Case by case review by manager

Licensure & Certifications

• License: Kansas RN license or compact license required at time of submission (no pending licenses)
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required (not first-time travelers)

Skills & Responsibilities

• Assist with sterile speculum exam, NST (Non-Stress Test), reflex checks, sterile vaginal exam, and external fetal monitoring (EFM)
• IV insertion and medication administration
• Labor & Delivery management including:

  • High risk & vaginal deliveries
  • Forceps/vacuum deliveries
  • C-sections
  • Neonatal and newborn care
  • Pain management
  • Postpartum care
  • Surgical cases such as cervical cerclage

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to jump in after the second shift in a Critical Access setting
• Proof of required background checks, education verification, and health documents (including immunizations and drug testing) will be required prior to start
• Compliance with facility-specific onboarding and safety training

Summary

This is a night shift travel RN position in a critical access hospital in Kansas requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience, prior travel experience, and certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP. The role involves comprehensive labor and delivery responsibilities including high-risk cases and surgical support. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks with weekend coverage every third weekend.
