Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Opportunity

Schedule & Work Details

• 36/36 or 36/48 schedule (use whichever is appropriate for the employment agreement)
• No call required
• Floating required
• Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without financial penalty if census decreases
• Additional shifts above work commitment may be offered as overtime and flexed as needed
• Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
• General orientation begins on Sundays (online CBLs)
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience (higher value confirmed)
• Accepts first-time travelers (prior travel experience NOT required)
• AHA BLS, NIH, and AHA ACLS certifications required

Certifications & Licenses

• Required:

  • ACLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
  • BLS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
  • State RN License with Primary Source Verification
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Preferred/As Applicable:

  • PALS (AHA Instructor or Provider; RQI accepted)
  • NRP (required for ER; can be pending at start)
  • TNCC (highly preferred for ER)
  • National Certification/Verification for Techs as applicable
• Annual Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required

Background & Compliance Checks

• Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Education verification required
• Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed/certified in TN or working in TN

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite (previous fit tests from non-facility not accepted)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• MMR titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) or documentation of vaccines/boosters
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
• Varicella titer or documentation of vaccines/boosters
• Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 29 – Mar 31)

Additional Requirements & Responsibilities

• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care
• Photo for badge required within 48 hours of signed contract
• Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgements (dress code, smoking policy, contaminated sharps exposure, respirator medical evaluation, etc.)
• References: 2 accepted, 3 preferred
• Skills checklist required
