Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (PCU/Tele RN)
Location: Dededo, Guam
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry (Tele RN)
- Care Level: Primarily PCU level care on a telemetry unit
- Shift: Assigned to primarily one shift (day or night) without shift preference option
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, flexibility required
- Holidays: Working on holidays is mandatory (dates determined by unit needs)
- Float Requirement: Must be willing to float within scope to Med-Surg and ED Tele overflow; no ICU patient care outside scope
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must not reside in Guam)
- Passport: Current US passport required at time of submittal
- Travel Partners: Not accepted
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Preferred 3-5 years experience
- First-time travelers NOT accepted (prior travel experience required)
Patient Ratios
- Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4-5
Required Certifications & Licensure
- RN license: Compact or Guam RN license in hand at time of submittal (no pending licenses accepted)
- ACLS (American Heart Association provider card, digital certificate required)
- BLS (American Heart Association provider card, digital certificate required)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Conscious Sedation for ER/ICU/CCL) — check unit specifics
Additional Requirements
- On-call: Not required
- Overtime: At management discretion, not guaranteed
- Return to Office (RTO): Must be approved and included in contract prior to start; max 3 consecutive days per 2 weeks, max 7 total days
- Guaranteed Hours: Contracted hours with client able to cancel up to 3 shifts during 13-week assignment
- Must be willing to pick up additional shifts as census demands
- Flights are not reimbursed; plan accordingly

Orientation & Testing
- Drug Calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) exams required onsite during orientation
- Exams are pen and paper, must be completed in person, cannot be done prior to start
- Passing score: 80% or higher, two attempts allowed with remediation discussion after first attempt
Health & Compliance Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start (facility does not require but Aya does)
- Fit Mask Test: Within 1 year, must use approved masks or complete onsite fit test
- Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Within 1 year of start, with annual TB questionnaire if past positive
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity or vaccination required
- Hepatitis B: Immune titer or vaccine series required
- Varicella: Proof of immunity or vaccination required
- Flu Vaccine: Mandatory during flu season (Sept 1 - June 30); medical exemptions considered with facility form
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Strongly preferred; declination requires facility-specific waiver form
- Drug Screen: 9-panel instant drug screen within 30 days of start; not required annually unless gap between assignments
Facility-Specific Training & Documentation
- Nursing Modules (8-12 hours) required before start, including:
- Pressure Injury Training
- NIH Stroke Scale Training (NIHSS)
- Alaris IV Pumps
- Pyxis CareFusion
- Certificates for above modules must be uploaded as proof of completion
- Additional training may be required for specific units (e.g., Conscious Sedation for ER, ICU, Cath Lab; ESI for ER)
- Facility-specific forms and instructions provided upon clearance
References & Work History
- 2 professional references required for travel/per diem acute care
- Work history verification for last 10 years required
