Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Details

  • Shift: Nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
  • Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Locals Accepted: No, travelers must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
  • Charting System: Cerner PowerChart
  • Scrub Color: Grey

Required Qualifications

  • License: Current state license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience as an RRT
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
    • State License
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Requirements

  • Background Check: Required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
  • Education Verification: Diploma or transcript required
  • Physical Exam: Required
  • TB Testing: Negative 2-step PPD or Q-gold within 1 year of start (T-Spots not accepted)
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles) - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
    • Mumps - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
    • Rubella - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B - titer, series, or declination
    • Varicella - titer or 2 vaccines (booster if low titer)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu Vaccination: Required prior to start or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation

Notes

  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Prior travel experience is not required
  • Candidates must complete facility-specific modules prior to start (approx. 8-10 hours)
  • No call or on-site EKG exam required for this position

This position is ideal for RRTs seeking a night shift travel assignment in Michigan with a supportive hospital system and clear certification requirements.
