Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Greenwich, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Position requires a CT registered Radiologic Technologist competent as a scrub tech for Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology (IR).
- Mechanical Stroke experience is required.
- EP Ablation experience is a plus but not required.
- Cardiac Cath and IR with Stroke experience is important.
- Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 9.5 hours each (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, may vary).
- Call and weekend shifts required as needed with 30-minute callback and travel time.
- Scrubs provided.
- Free parking available.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a CT registered Radiologic Technologist.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) certification required.
- Minimum 5 years total experience required, with at least 3 years in Interventional Radiology.
- First-time travelers accepted if minimum 5 years experience is met.
- Prior travel experience is not required.
Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (AHA or ARC) required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended (per facility/unit requirements).
- State CT license required; candidate must apply within 72 hours of start and provide proof.
- Tech Certification or Surgical Tech certification verification required.
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months of start; must be updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
- Education verification and transcript/diploma requirements apply.
- Sex offender search required.
- Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps greater than 90 days.
- Work history verification required for the last 7 years.
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for this role.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start required.
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually; must be clean shaven for fit testing.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required.
- Annual TB questionnaire required.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination within 1 year)
- Varicella
- 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start required.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31).
- COVID vaccination series preferred.
Additional Training & Competencies
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required within 12 months of start.
- Color blind testing required for all candidates on/after 8/2/2024.
- Competency exams and unit-specific certifications may be required depending on assignment.
Work Environment
- 186 staffed beds.
- Magnet and teaching hospital.
