Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Silver City, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with experience in mother-baby and L&D care. This is a travel/contract position at a critical access hospital with 25 staffed beds. The schedule is 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, including weekends.

Required Experience

• Specialty: Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery
• Minimum Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated, but must have mother-baby and L&D experience (implies relevant clinical experience)

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or multi-state RN license
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required for Labor and Delivery nurses
• Ability to work weekends
• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR preferred

Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12)
• Weekend availability required
• ASAP start date

Additional Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, fingerprinting (state of NM requirement)
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Fit testing for N95 masks required
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine, or declination
• Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within last 12 months plus a second drug/alcohol test at orientation
• Proof of 2 clinical references required
