Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Float
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required.
- Epic electronic health record experience preferred.
- Staffing ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients.
- Work schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Strict 5 days maximum return to office (RTO) policy.
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Certifications
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Must meet all background check requirements including social security trace, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions.
- Must complete competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, and core competencies annually.
- Must comply with immunization and health screening requirements including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
- Drug screening within 30 days of start date.
- Employment application with 7 years of work history and no gaps over 30 days.
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Must be able to work in a float role covering Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
- Competency exams and certifications must be current and maintained annually.
- CPI certification may be completed onsite if not already certified.
- Physical exam not required but immunizations and health documents must be up to date.
- Background checks and license verifications must be completed within specified timeframes.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Every other weekend and holiday required.
- Staffing ratio 1:6.
- Float position covering Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units.
