Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Inpatient Physical Therapist position
  • Typical shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
  • Background check including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check
  • Education verification of initial and most recent related degree
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start date
  • Negative TB test (TSpot or QGold) within 1 year; PPD not accepted
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) vaccine required; exemptions require facility-specific approval
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if low titer
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, declination, or vaccine series
    • Varicella: Titer, 2 vaccines, or history of disease; boosters required if low titer
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
  • COVID vaccination highly encouraged but not mandatory

Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (AHA preferred, ARC accepted)

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references verified within one year of start
  • Annual skills checklist required, must not expire within 30 days of start
  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding, occupational health appointment, and orientation prior to start
  • Completion of facility-required electronic documentation and confidentiality agreements

Notes

  • Orientation is held once per week on Tuesdays
  • Travelers must stay local to the area on their start date if occupational health appointment is scheduled that day
  • Facility-specific testing (e.g., medication calculation, competency exams) may be required at orientation
