Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Billings, Montana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details

  • Shift: Straight nights
  • Call: Limited call; may have one weekend of call per month depending on shifts scheduled

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Montana
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, certificates of completion NOT accepted
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, certificates of completion NOT accepted
  • Experience: Minimum years of specialty experience not explicitly stated; assume standard RN experience for Operating Room roles
  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year background check required within 30 days of start; must renew annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check required within 30 days of start
    • HHS/OIG check required within 30 days of start
  • Education Verification: Third-party verification of highest level of education required

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, or PA (no Chiropractors)
  • Negative drug screen within 30 days of start; must be renewed annually
  • Quantitative fit mask test with 3M mask within 90 days prior to start (qualitative tests not accepted; must be clean-shaven)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (TDAP within 10 years or signed declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray, renewed annually
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if low/equivocal titers)
    • Hepatitis B: Positive IGG titer, 3-dose vaccine series, or declination within last year
    • Varicella: Positive IGG titer or 2 vaccines (boosters required if low/equivocal titers)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required October 31 - March 31 (declinations accepted with documentation)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Documentation & Compliance

  • Current and valid driver’s license, government photo ID, or passport
  • Proof of name change if applicable
  • Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • Two references required, including one direct supervisor reference within the last year
  • Skills checklist and work history verification preferred for last 5 years
  • NURSYS verification of RN license required within 30 days of start

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
