Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Milford, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Physical Therapist with acute care experience to work primarily with adult patients in orthopedic, neurological, ICU, and oncology units. Inpatient experience is required.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Wednesdays: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Very limited weekends

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience in an inpatient setting

Required Certifications & Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA only
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA only (if applicable)
• Other specialty certifications may be required based on unit assignment (check specific details)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for all RNs and LPNs (if applicable)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID
• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release (updated annually)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, with annual updates
• Education verification of highest completed degree (transcripts accepted if verification unavailable)
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
• Drug testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required)
• Immunizations or valid declinations for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • TB testing (2 PPDs or equivalent) and TB questionnaire
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or declination
• References: 2 within the last 3 years
• Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist updated annually as applicable

Patient Population

• Adults only
• Primary focus on Orthopedics, Neurology, ICU, and Oncology patients

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position.
• Very limited weekend shifts expected.
