Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform x-rays for Emergency Department, outpatient, and in-house patients.
• Fluoroscopy procedures are also a significant part of the workload.
• Schedule:

  • Saturday and Sunday: 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Monday and Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Schedule may vary based on unit needs.
• Weekend work is required.
• No on-call, float, or holiday requirements.
• Use of special equipment including Philips, GE, and Care Stream portable x-ray machines.
• Scrubs color: Black or Gray.

Required Qualifications

• Valid X-Ray Technician license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of X-Ray Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT-R or ARRT certification required
• LSRT certification accepted temporarily (issued within 3-5 days upon fee payment and proof of ARRT certification)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching candidate documentation.
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
• Various health and immunization documents required, including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with specific timing requirements).
  • Up-to-date vaccinations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap.
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start date.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination documentation.
• Competency exams and annual updates required (e.g., medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency).
• Employee appearance policy adherence.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• No on-call or float requirements.
• Weekend shifts are mandatory.
