Shift: Days (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 07:00 - 19:30), 36 hours every other week
Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit with an orthopedic/joint focus.
• Work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
• Floating required within the specialty and to other units/facilities within scope.
• On-call is not required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical nursing with orthopedic/joint experience.
• First-time travel nurses are accepted with strong relevant experience.
• Prior travel experience is NOT required.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and NIH Stroke certification preferred but not mandatory.

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in Maryland.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
• Orthopedics experience.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Must complete background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and state-specific exclusions.
• Must provide government-issued photo ID.
• Physical exam and drug screening required within specified timeframes.
• Required immunizations and titers: TB test, Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Rubella, Flu vaccine (or approved medical/religious exemption).
• Fit mask test required within 1 year of start.
• Must pass medication and competency exams as applicable.
• Must sign confidentiality agreement, dress code acknowledgment, and job description prior to start.
• Must complete orientation and any required facility-specific training.

Additional Information

• Orientation is typically held on Tuesdays at 8 AM.
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs or business casual during orientation.
• Documentation such as photo for badge, access forms, and various health and compliance forms must be completed prior to or at orientation.
• Floating and holiday work are required as part of the role.
