Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule options: alternating 3x12s and 4x12s every other week, or straight 4x12s shifts
• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Weekend shifts required
• No on-call duties
• Float requirement applies
• Holiday shifts required (at least 2 out of 3 holidays)
• Unit includes General Medical-Surgical, COVID, TB, and all negative pressure rooms
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• CHEMO certification
• ARRT - Diagnostic (Interventional Radiologic Technologist) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Return to Office (RTO) within 5 days or add time to end of contract
• Must pass competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG annually
• Background checks and verifications required within specified timeframes
• Immunizations and health documentation required, including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (recent within 3 months)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
• Drug screening within 30 days of start date
• Employment application with 7 years of work history and no gaps over 30 days

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Holiday and weekend work are mandatory components of the schedule
• Float pool duties are expected

This position is ideal for experienced MS/Telemetry RNs comfortable with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays.
