Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (CT/Xray Tech)
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- First-time travelers accepted
- Weekend shifts required
- No on-call duties
- No floating between units required
- Average patient visits per day: 20
- Charting system: Epic
- Equipment used includes Siemens Somatron go all, Carestream revolution portable xray, GE-9900 OEC portable c-arm, Siemens Ysio Max general xray
- Unit covers hospital imaging needs including Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient (IP)
- ED sees an average of 40 patients per 24-hour period, with highs up to 63 patients
- Acute care hospital with 29 adult inpatient beds, 18 ED rooms, 2-room OR, 1 cath lab
- No scheduled outpatients or interventional radiology at this time
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist/Xray Tech, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- X-Ray Technician experience
- Weekend availability required
- Ability to chart in Epic system
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation held twice monthly
- Safety and facility-specific orientation required
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Current Driver’s License or State ID with correct name/address
- Background checks including 7-year history, national sex offender search, and applicable county/state checks
- Drug testing within 30 days of assignment start (12-panel)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician/NP/PA
- Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start
- Immunizations and/or titers required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Mumps (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (proof of 3 vaccines or positive titer; declinations allowed with form)
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start, renewed annually
- Professional references: 2 required from employment within last 3 years, including 1 supervisory reference
- Employment application with detailed work history for last 7 years, explaining any gaps over 30 days
- Annual skills checklist update required
Additional Certifications (may be required depending on unit)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for certain units
- HIPAA competency (annual update required)
