Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Details

• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-time travelers (prior travel experience required)
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
• Call Requirement: None
• Float Requirement: Yes, to other ICUs (MICU, Neuro, TICU, Burn)
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Scrubs: Navy blue
• Return to Office (RTO): Strict 5 day max

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Preferred Certifications:

• CCRN

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years ICU nursing experience
• Prior travel experience required (no first-time travelers accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Tdap within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination
• Competency exams (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG, core competencies) updated annually
• Employee appearance policy compliance

Notes

• Must be willing to float to other ICU units as needed
• Weekend and holiday shifts required
• No call shifts required
• Navy blue scrubs required on assignment
• Strict adherence to return-to-office policy (max 5 days)
