X-Ray Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Fayetteville, Georgia
Contract Length: 17 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Details

  • Department includes 3 Carestream X-Ray rooms, 3 Carestream portable units, and 2 Siemens Fluoroscopy rooms.
  • Majority of cases involve Emergency Department (ED) and portable X-rays on the floor. Some Operating Room (OR) cases included.
  • No weekends or on-call required.
  • Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technician.
  • Radiology Technician experience within the last year is required.
  • Experience specifically as an X-Ray Technician is required.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Full compliance with all credentialing and onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time. Delays in compliance may result in a 2-week start delay due to orientation scheduling.
  • Background check must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification and criminal history checks.
  • Education verification required; diplomas or transcripts may be accepted if degree verification is pending.
  • Physical exam required within 12 months prior to start.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months required; if positive history, additional documentation required. TB questionnaire must be updated annually.
  • Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start, including amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, and THC. Instant drug screen acceptable.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity:
    • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella.
    • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer.
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination.
    • Flu vaccine or signed declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
  • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy.

Competency Requirements

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs and LVNs (Aya requirement).
  • Color blindness test required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties including telemetry and critical care areas; up to 3 attempts allowed.
  • Skills checklist updated within the last 12 months required.

Work History & References

  • Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing.
  • Two clinical references required.

Holidays

  • If one major holiday falls during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work it.
  • If two major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work both.
  • If three major holidays fall during the assignment, the traveler is expected to work two of them.
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year’s Eve/Day.

Additional Notes

  • Orientation turnaround time (RTO) is a maximum of 7 days.
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate.
  • Aya offer contingent on clinical pass within RTO guidelines and meeting facility-specific requirements.
  • Floating within the facility may be required as per scope of practice.

This position is ideal for Radiology professionals with at least 2 years of experience seeking a travel contract with no weekend or call requirements, working primarily day shifts in a hospital setting with a focus on ED and portable imaging.
