Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract
Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Case Management (Registered Nurse)
- Schedule: Thursday through Sunday, 4 shifts per week
- Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (10 hours per day, 40 hours per week)
- Patient Ratios: 1:5 during day shifts, 1:6 during nights and weekends
- Weekend work is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating outside scope of practice is not required
- Block scheduling accommodation available (Thurs-Sun)
- Locals within 100 miles radius are not accepted

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico (pending NM license accepted at time of submission)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Case Management experience within the last year
- Acute Hospital Case Management experience in an inpatient setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Additional Requirements
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks
- A 6-month break is required after completing 4 consecutive assignments or reaching one year of continuous travel work, whichever comes first
- Return to office (RTO) restrictions: absences longer than 7 days require approval
Compliance and Documentation
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required within 30 days of start and updated annually
- Fingerprinting required within 10 days of orientation (fee may be reimbursed by agency)
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (THC screen not required)
- Annual TB questionnaire and negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: Tdap, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption required
- Fit mask test required within 1 year of start
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Professional references: 2 within last 3 years
Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and NIH Stroke Certification may be required or preferred depending on unit assignment (verify with recruiter)
Notes
- First-time travel nurses are accepted for this position
- Orientation and facility-specific training presentations are mandatory
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be completed prior to start
