Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Position

Location: Valdosta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Outpatient Cancer Center Radiation Therapist role
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
• No call, no float required
• Closed on major holidays (e.g., 11/28-29, 12/25-26, 1/1)
• Orientation: 8-hour general orientation and onboarding, paired with a mentor at all times
• Dress code: Business casual with lab coat; scrub color Caribbean blue preferred (any color except black acceptable)

Patient Population

• Adults
• Variety of diagnoses including prostate, breast, lung, head/neck, skin, rectal, primary brain, and palliative bone metastases

Specialty & Procedures

• Radiation therapy techniques: SRS, SBRT, IMRT, VMAT, 3D, 4D, 2D, IGRT, SGRT, DIBH
• Outpatient Radiation Therapist position
• Daily warm-ups by RTTs are not required

Equipment & Systems

• Elekta Versa HD accelerators
• XVI & iView imaging systems
• VisionRT SGRT
• Hexapod table
• GE CT simulator
• Philips Pinnacle Treatment Planning System (TPS)
• Documentation system: Elekta Mosaiq (experience required)

Required Qualifications

• Radiation Therapist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
• Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
• ARRT(T) certification required
• BLS certification required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID
• Social Security Card
• Background check within 30 days of start (including SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search)
• Official transcript or diploma copy
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, renewed yearly
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 1 year; chest x-ray if previously positive
• Immunizations or positive titers for: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (or signed declination)
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (facility-specific declination accepted)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including Marijuana/THC)
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start during flu season
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per facility policy
• Passport-style photo with white background for badge
• Employment application and 2 professional references required

Orientation & Training Requirements

• Facility-specific onboarding and general orientation
• Pass/fail testing on medication, EKG, and critical care exams may be required depending on unit (not typically for Radiation Therapist)
• Mask fit testing completed at orientation
• Facility-specific learning modules must be completed prior to start
• Adherence to facility dress code and scrub color policy

Additional Notes

• Must provide time-off requests in advance
• Radiation Oncology students may occasionally be present on unit
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
