Medical Surgical RN (Nights)

Location: Rockford, Illinois Employment Type: Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00P - 7:30A (Nights) Hours per Week: 36

Overview

Experienced RNs are sought for Medical Surgical units.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (2 years), with at least one year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act
• Document according to standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individual needs, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care
• Apply critical thinking to patient safety and patient experience, and escalate appropriately through the chain of command
