Registered Nurse - Oncology/Neuro (Night Shift)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Contract (8 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 48

Job Description

Floating to other medical-surgical areas is required.
Nurses must be willing to care for up to 8 patients when needed.
Common patient diagnoses/procedures include:
- Stroke
- Cancer
- Palliative/End-of-Life care
- Mental status changes
- Seizures
- Post-operative care for craniotomy, laminectomy, shunt (neurosurgery)
- Complications of chemotherapy and symptom management
- Chemotherapy administration
Special procedures performed on the unit:
- Bone marrow biopsy
- EEG/continuous monitoring
Common medications used: General medications and chemotherapy agents
Common equipment used: IV pumps, PCA pumps, and general nursing equipment

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Information

The facility may downstaff travelers with 36 to 48 hours’ notice during the 13-week contract based on weekly schedules.
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
