Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois and Wisconsin
- Approved CPR certification required within 90 days
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) certification required

Job Description
- Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care in a clinical setting
- Support nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan
- May include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call hours
- Perform duties including floating to various units based on clinical competency and needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary diabetes management team to provide diabetes education to patients and families
- Utilize nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards and state laws
- Document care according to standards
- Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family instruction
- Participate in department/unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments
- Use critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately
- Participate in professional nursing development processes
- Act as a resource for staff on patient education programs and materials
- Advocate for patients addressing clinical, psychosocial, and financial issues
