Required Qualifications

BLS
Nonviolent Crisis intervention
1 year of MS experience
Must be able to take a 1:6 ratio
Must be able to titrate drips
Experience with bedside shift report
Experience with EPIC documentation
Experience with the shift submitted for (days vs nights)

Preferred

First-time travelers are accepted

Unit Details

Nurse-patient ratio: 1:5-6 on days and nights; must be able to take 6
Cardiac tech is available 24/7
Nursing supervisor is available 24/7
CNA support is available
Respiratory therapy support is available 24/7
Common patient types include adults and possibly older teens
Common diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory virus, orthopedic surgical patients, general surgery patients, spinal surgery patients, and urology patients
Common drips include heparin, Bumex, and Lasix
May float to IMCU for Med Surg assignments
Weekend coverage is as needed
Holiday coverage is as needed
Call or standby may be required for low census or cancellations
Navy blue scrubs
Unit orientation is 1.5 shifts
