Travel RN Opportunity – NICU Nursery, Frisco, TX

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU Nursery
• Location: Frisco, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Weekend every other weekend, 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Unit: NICU Nursery (670)
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 3 patients per nurse
• Staffing: Minimum 2 NICU RNs per shift, with 24/7 in-house Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, OB hospitalist, and anesthesiologist coverage

Unit & Equipment

• New service line opening October 15th
• Equipped with the latest technology including:

  • GE Bedside Monitors and GE beds (Giraffe and Panda Warmers)
  • Natus Neoblue phototherapy lights
  • Neomed and Medfusion Feeding/Medication pumps
• Documentation systems: Meditech and CPNS

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of hospital or specialty NICU experience
• Must have certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
• Active RN license required (temporary licenses not accepted)
• Experience with:

  • Care for infants requiring CPAP or ventilation
  • Central line care
  • Stabilization and attending deliveries
  • Developmental care

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Assist with line placement
• Assist with circumcision
• Assist with intubation

Certifications & Licenses

• Active Registered Nurse License (no temporary licenses)
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE
• Additional certifications preferred: ACLS, AWHONN

Work Environment & Policies

• Floating: May float to Newborn Nursery as needed
• Attendance: Company-wide attendance policy applies
• Dress Code:

  • Royal Blue Medical City Healthcare Scrubs (purchased from Scrubs and Beyond)
  • Clean, healthy nails with no polish or artificial enhancements
  • Neat, clean hair; pulled back if shoulder length or longer
  • Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be neatly trimmed
  • Tattoos should be covered when possible
  • No visible piercings other than ears (e.g., no nose or tongue rings)
  • No perfumes or lotions allowed
