- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend days worked per 6 weeks
- On Call: 2 on-call shifts required per 6 weeks (for emergencies or extra shifts as needed)

Job Summary
- Practice independently in a similar clinical setting
- Provide routine and complex nursing care
- Manage long-range goals and clinical contingencies
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers
- Meet applicable competency standards (Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders)
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor side effects and effectiveness
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Current RN license in New Mexico or compact license
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Current ACLS (AHA) certification required
- Current PALS (AHA) certification required
- Current TNCC certification required
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
- Must have recent/current ER experience with trauma levels I, II, or III
Orientation & Competency
- New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days
- Precepted by trained staff with competency validations including Emergency Department-specific validation
- Newly licensed RNs may participate in residency or specific orientation programs
- Completion of annual competency verification required
