Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST/ORT) - Travel Position

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Shift: Nights, 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

An integral member of the surgical team who supports surgeons throughout operations by preparing, providing, and caring for instruments and equipment while maintaining a sterile field.

Requirements

Education & Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology preferred
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Surgical Tech certification required

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or instrument care environment preferred
• Trauma experience required

Skills

• Knowledge of care and handling of surgical instruments and equipment
• Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English

Physical Requirements

• Heavy physical effort requiring standing, walking, or lifting most of the day
• Ability to speak, hear, and communicate verbally and in writing

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens; adherence to Universal Precautions and use of protective equipment required
• Weekend and on-call requirements to be discussed during the interview
