Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Missouri Approved IV Certification

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient experience in Acute Care, Med Surg, and Neurology
• Inpatient experience is required; clinic, SNF, or MD office experience is not sufficient
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Job Responsibilities

• Assist RN with admission and discharge processes
• Perform patient assessments as directed by RN
• Conduct patient handoffs using safety tools (e.g., SBAR)
• Perform patient rounding based on need and guidelines
• Communicate significant changes in patient condition to RN promptly
• Collaborate with RN to evaluate patient response and document nursing interventions
• Reinforce and document patient/family educational needs
• Prioritize care delivery in collaboration with RN
• Delegate and guide UAPs within their competencies
• Maintain knowledge of Scope of Practice and Delegation limitations
• Complete required nursing competencies, certifications, and mandatory in-services
• Participate in unit communications, process improvement activities, and hospital committees/projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Summary

This travel LPN/LVN role in a neurology unit requires at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience, including med-surg and neuro. The position offers night shifts with 48 guaranteed hours weekly and no call requirements. Certification in BLS and Missouri IV approval is mandatory. The role involves close collaboration with RNs, patient assessments, and delegation of tasks to UAPs within scope. Prior travel experience is not required.

Note: Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1, with exemptions needing client approval.
