Travel RN Opportunity - Nashville, Tennessee

Unit Information

  • Unit: 9 Tower Surgical
  • Location: Main Tower, 36 beds
  • Staffing: 40 RNs total (8 bedside RNs per shift)
    • Day Shift: 8 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 Unit Secretary, 1 Manager, 1 CNC
    • Night Shift: 8 RNs
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Equipment: Bariatric fitted ADLs, Wound Vacs, Drains, Lifts
  • EMR System: Meditech

Typical Procedures

  • Maintenance of post-op surgical sites
  • Wound care (packing, dressing changes, wound vac maintenance)
  • Foley catheter care including continuous bladder irrigation
  • Ostomy appliance changes and maintenance
  • Nasogastric tube insertion and suction
  • Total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
  • Blood administration
  • Central line care and dressing changes
  • Bedside shift report

Required Skills

  • Must Have:
    • Time management and efficiency (fast-paced unit with short length of stay)
    • Teamwork
  • Preferred:
    • Background in post-op surgical areas such as vascular, bariatric, urology, general surgery, colorectal

Personality Fit

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS certification required
  • Registered Nurse license required
