Position Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel
• Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Call Coverage: Required, including Fridays and weekends (7-12 days per month)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

• Perform as a Surgery Circulator and assist with Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) duties.
• Provide nursing care to patients efficiently, safely, and courteously using appropriate nursing procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for patients across the lifespan, including assessment, interpretation, and intervention based on patient status.
• Utilize information technologies to provide evidence-based care and improve health outcomes.

Essential Functions

• Practice within nursing standards, hospital policies, and accreditation standards.
• Operate within scope of practice with current, evidence-based knowledge and skills.
• Focus on patient-centered care, teamwork, and customer service.
• Understand telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation.
• Supervise non-professional staff and assist physicians with patient care and procedures.
• Administer medications following protocols, including controlled substances, using EMAR and scanning technology.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and communicate concerns through proper channels.
• Participate in ongoing education, departmental meetings, drills, and quality improvement activities.
• Assist in peer and staff evaluations, data collection, and chart reviews.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards.
• Support nursing staff in other departments as needed.
• Develop and revise patient care plans based on co-morbidities and standards.
• Respond promptly to workload changes to ensure optimal patient care.
• Document nursing care accurately and timely using technology.
• Demonstrate flexibility with working hours and shifts to meet staffing needs.

• Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Family Birthing Center (FBC)
• Procedural Sedation
• Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum Care (including complications)
• Rapid Sequence Intubation
• Fetal and Advanced Cardiac Monitoring
• Newborn Care (Delivery to Discharge)
• Ventilator/BiPAP management
• Trauma Alert response
• Critical drips and rapid infuser use
• Various screenings (hearing, EMTALA, CCHD, photo therapy)
• Infant security and pre-term care

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of clinic nursing experience within the last year
• Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Experience

• Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year in nursing specialty (higher value from data applied).
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
