Job Opportunity: RN - Progressive Critical Care Unit (PCU)

Job Description
- Work in the Progressive Critical Care Unit caring for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients.
- Patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications.
- Average patient load: 3 high acuity patients.
- Nurses with large-scale adult PCU and community hospital ICU experience tend to perform well.
- Competency test required within 24 hours of submission.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Epic experience required.
- Competent in care of medical and surgical populations.
- ACLS certification required.
- Advanced hemodynamics knowledge including pressor usage per titration protocols.
- Experience with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics.
- Familiarity with arterial line (a line), central venous pressure (CVP), external ventricular drain (EVD), orthopedic traction, and infection prevention protocols.
- Experience with HFNC, BiPap/CPAP, and oxypendent devices.
- Navy blue scrubs required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, including experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Experience working with adult patients.
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
Additional Information
- Local candidates from certain counties are not eligible as of 1/11/2024.
- Floating to other units may be required.
- Competency test will be administered electronically.
