Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Largo, Florida
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work primarily on a respiratory therapy unit with approximately 290 beds and a staff of 21 therapists.
• Day shift typically includes 6 therapists and a supervisor; night shift includes 4 therapists.
• Patient care involves ventilator management, critical care skills, and good assessment abilities.
• Typical procedures include:

  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) from arterial lines and sticks
  • Assisting in intubations, codes, and rapid response situations
• Equipment used includes Servo and 840 ventilators.
• EMR system in use (specific system not disclosed).
• The unit values team players who like to stay busy.

Schedule & Work Expectations

• Scheduled according to facility policy.
• Expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital staff.

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Meditech EMR system.
• Prior ventilator experience.

• Candidates without critical care and ventilator management skills will not be considered.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
