Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist I (RT-I) is responsible for performing respiratory therapy procedures, cardio-respiratory diagnostics, and patient assessment under the direction of a licensed physician. The RRT will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders and assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including supervising respiratory therapy technicians. Duties include initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, maintaining patient records, and managing respiratory therapy equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in New York
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system

Additional Information

• Must be able to perform duties as outlined in annual competency assessments.
• Ability to prioritize emergent vs. non-emergent requests and troubleshoot unclear physician orders.
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills required.
