Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides shift accountability for care during the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of Obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. Care is delivered by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for safe delivery of care. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education, delegating patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and providing direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Shift: Night shift, 7 PM – 7 AM

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Mexico
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Current Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
