Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room

Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Surgical unit with 5 operating rooms
• Current staffing includes full-time and part-time RNs and surgical techs
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Equipment: Basic OR equipment including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy, and positioning equipment
• Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
• Call schedule: Approximately 5-6 call days per month with rotating weekends
• Shift coverage includes day and evening shifts with on-call responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience
• Experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the Operating Room (CST/ORT - OR)
• OR circulator experience required
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• Ability to fulfill rotating call schedule:

  • At least one night per week
  • One weekend per 5-week schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in orthopedic, general, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, or thoracic surgical procedures

Work Environment & Culture

• Scrub attire provided by the facility
• No floating to other units
