Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery unit
- 12 beds
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Staffing includes RNs, a unit secretary, and OR techs
- Travelers float first
- Shared decision making is part of the patient experience expectations
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NRP
- AWHONN or CEFM
Schedule
- 3 twelve-hour shifts
- 3 weekend shifts
- 1 call shift for RNs
Clinical Experience Needed
- Care of the laboring patient
- Care of the newborn immediately after delivery
- Circulating and recovering C-section patients
Procedures on the Unit
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- D&C
- Cerclage
- Epidural anesthesia
- Tub labor
Documentation
- CPN
- Meditach
Dress Code
- Scrubs are not provided
- Required colors: Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray
