Location: York, Maine Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Maine
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of Med Surg experience
• Med Surg experience within the last year

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Applies evidence-based practice, accepted protocols, and nursing judgment to meet professional nursing standards
• Basic knowledge of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and equipment
• Basic knowledge and care of oncology patients
• Coordinates, organizes, and prioritizes complex multiple patient assignments
• Administers medications safely, on time, and according to policy, then evaluates and documents effectiveness
• Participates in committees and initiatives on patient satisfaction, quality care, cost reduction, and patient care improvement

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides efficient, professional, compassionate nursing care
• Directs the activities of paraprofessionals providing care
• Communicates effectively with patients, support persons, and the healthcare team
• Implements nursing care through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Acts in compliance with hospital and Nursing Department policies and the Maine Nurse Practice Act
