Occupational Therapist (OT) - Travel Assignment

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation, 41-bed facility
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shift (3:30 PM end time)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexible start/stop treatment times

Unit Information

• Occupational Therapy unit within an inpatient rehabilitation center
• Patient load: Up to 6 patients per day, 6-hour treatment requirement per patient
• Staff: Approximately 3 OTRs and 3 COTAs currently on staff
• Equipment: ESTIM, patient lifts, ADL/IADL equipment, gym equipment
• EMR system: Meditech
• Facility features state-of-the-art technology and a full IADL kitchen

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist (OTR) license in Kansas
• Minimum 6 months of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• De-escalation skills
• Completion of an assessment evaluating the skills and competencies of an Occupational Therapist or knowledge of hazardous drug handling risks according to USP 800 guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Lymphedema certification
• Neuro certification or experience

Typical Responsibilities

• Evaluation and treatment of patients
• Providing ADL (Activities of Daily Living) and IADL (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living) therapy
• Hands-on clinical treatment delivery
• Tracking therapy time and charges to meet the 3-hour therapy requirement per patient
