Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry

Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a 42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit focused on Cardiac Telemetry.
Patient population primarily includes cardiac patients with chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and various cardiac arrhythmias.
Also care for medical patients with pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, occasional stroke, and some surgical patients.
Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6.
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals.
Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.

Licenses & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse license in Alabama.
AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience.
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.

Additional Information

This is a patient-facing, clinical position.
Electronic Medical Record system used: Meditech.
Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
Parking is available.
